These are raw, unedited photos of the Godwyn-De'az Pattern or Pattern 482 Bolter that I had originally been building for use with the Sister's of Battle costume I am making. This is to scale. Now it would look fine with a Sister of Battle who is 6' tall but against my petite wife's 4'9" frame it is almost as big as she is and this sucker actually has some weight to it.

The Bolter will now be used with an Adeptus Arbites costume that I will make for myself or perhaps with a Pre-Heresy Space Marine costume if I feel ambitious. I realize I am not the size of an Astartes but then neither are the miniatures. Before any one nitpicks this IS to scale as stated. I measured from the miniature and scaled it up meticulously. I have temporarily taped some of the joins to display it as it is currently still under construction and I need to cut the exterior housing of the main carrier again because I forgot to make allowance for the width of the material. This should give you some idea though of what the finished prop will look like. The pistol grip will be traded for one made with blue styro and I will be using the pink one to construct a Bolt Pistol for my wife to use with the costume instead giving her a promotion to Sister Superior. I will also be making an chain sword to go with it.

This is constructed from corrugated cardboard, cardboard tubes, heavy card, styrofoam, foamcore poster board, plastic bottle caps and a few other odds and ends. I will be adding in some LED lights for the laser sight that will light up with the trigger being pulled back. Not sure what els I may put in. This Bolter is .998 cal current Imperial Standard issue as opposed to the .75 cal previously used by Astartes and Sisiters of Battle. The rail that should extend from the base of the weapon beneath the barrel for attaching a combat knife is absent because I have not measured and cut it yet. This is a Work In Progress and requires a lot more work and paint to complete yet.

I will be putting up the pattern for construction after I finish building it for those that would like to build one themselves. I will be working on a Splinter rifle after this or perhaps a Vindicare Exitus Sniper Rifle.
You should feel the weight on this though. It feels good like the weight of a modern weapon. If this were real though it would be much heavier I think just from the weight of the ammo alone.

Ahaha yeah, and awesome as :D

Yes. This when complete will be painted and possibly have some lighting effects. Thinking of making the Boltpistol actually shoot Nerf ammunition. The Sisters of Battle armour will be painted in the livery of my wife's Witch Hunters army which is my next miniature painting project.
Want one Tamara?
:iconbaznevermore:
Just a lowly Servitor here... okay maybe a Techpriest Enginseer... at best. Funny another costume I am comtemplating building is an Adeptus Mechanicus Techpriest or something.
:icongenshiyimoru:
Warsmith man, Tech Marine man. full servo harness.
